As was the case in 2025 we will be running these champs as an area champs competition (each area competing against each other for the right to be West Mids Champs area champions!!) So no online entry. This is to encourage all athletes to compete as opposed to prioritising those already established at clubs. Athletes will need to compete at their area qualifiers (where one exists and is held before the WMSAA Champs*) in order to be selected by their respective team manager for the WMSAA Champs. There will be a maximum of 2 athletes from each area per event at the WMSAA Champs (unless an area cannot fill their quota in which case additional athletes may be allowed to run as a guest without their performance contributing to the overall points score). In addition, athletes can compete in a maximum of 2 events (1 track and field event only).
To enter their area championships (see dates below) athletes should send their details (name, school, age-group, event) to their respective area manager (see Team Manager tab). They can also do this via their school PE dept to forward on to the area manager (if this is the preferred method and ensures that they are entered correctly).
(*) Most areas hold their own year qualifiers. The dates/venues below are what have been communicated to us by the respective areas (some with area managers, others without a manager in place):

Google forms document (to be published soon) – This nomination form is to be completed by individuals who wish to be considered for selection to represent their area at the West Midlands Schools Track & Field Championship. It is intended for students.. a) whose area does not host a qualifier (e.g. NBham), b) whose schools are not participating in their respective area qualifiers, or c) where a year-group (e.g. yr11) has not been represented in that area qualifier. Please note that completing this form does not guarantee selection. A team manager will contact you prior to the championship to confirm whether you have been selected.
ESAA Standards form – for those athletes aspiring to represent West Mids Schools at the ESAA T&F Champs at Alexander Stadium on 10th/11th July, in order to be considered for selection for one of the 40 places, you must achieve a certain standard (either National (NS) or Entry (ES) minimum). The standards are listed on the “Standards” tab under the “Track & Field” menu. Any athlete who meets either ES or NS in a competition in 2026 is asked to complete the following Google form below detailing their performance/venue etc. Please ONLY fill this out if you achieve ES or NS:
